Winter Advisory in effect for our area, currently heavy overcast, hint of rain, total calm, temp 2C. Calling for lots of snow and wind, however temps not dropping till late this afternoon, suspect we may have a bit of rain prior to the snow. Radar indicates lots of rain near the mouth of the Bay will certainly be overhead by this afternoon.
Prom Dress experience painless, and a bit humbling. Decision made quickly, took a teenage girl in sweats and a txting machine to the Big Smoke, I sat in the car waiting. Summonsed so "Pa could see", met a mature young woman in a fancy dress. The deal was done to the degree I didn't ask the price or care for that matter, certainly wasn't expecting that outcome, one I am fortunate to have participated in.
Rob had his Report Card when we returned, he passed everything, even got an attaboy for a Math project. He has obtained max credits to this time, however is now obvious he is more than capable so can only imagine he will be expected to produce this next semester. A good day.

You are one BIG sap! Wait until you see her in her wedding dress!! My eyes actually misted over there for you :)
I am heading out to get a few things before the storm hits. It better cool down one heck of a lot if it is going to snow. It is rain right now, snow was mixed in when I went to feed the deer.
Get the shovels out.!
Word.
Chunks.
Rob, you did the very nicest thing ever. Emily knows you love her and you expressed it one more time by saying yes to the dress. Humm....think there is a TV show with that title. I remember my two prom dresses to this day and felt so lucky to have a mom that liked them too. My mom even was delighted with the wedding dress I picked out.
I would say Rob is starting to really grab on to his self confidence. He knows he is capable of doing whatever it takes to do well in school. I know you are so proud.
Cold here in the frozen sunshine state tonight and tomorrow night. Temps near freezing tonight and frost and near freeze tomorrow night.
Have a nice weekend.
Ola Chunks!
Light rain at daybreak transtioned to a snow that does not seem to build up on the ground. Just barely freezing as of noon but temps forecast to drop and wind increase as day and night go on. Winter not over quite yet. From what I see in articles this winter compares with 1950 a great deal.
Headed to Neighborhood House this afternoon for a "Fun for all Pinewood Derby Race". Some Boy Scouts will be there but quite an assortment of characters of all ages have whittled some impressive race cars. My favorite thus far is a little car that looks like a chunk of cheese, complete with holes, driven by a mouse. It was whittled by 8 year old Bea.
Enjoy the day,
David
